Research Interests
Madi joined MIT Mechanical Engineering as a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow in 2021. She is now working toward a PhD on the GEAR Lab Prosthetics Team. Her research has spanned human-computer interaction, assistive technology development, medical device design, human factors and ergonomics, and the translation of design research, but her current focus is on applying rigorous engineering design to problems in global health and development in low- and middle-income countries. She hopes to translate her work into sustainable, scalable ventures and products.
